Installing a fiberglass or two component epoxy swimming pool liner is a serious matter.

If not done correctly, and with the right materials, you will experience problems down the road, such as delamination, discoloration, and blistering of the pool surface. You need proven methods, materials, and experience.

There are several things to consider when installing a composite fiberglass, or two component epoxy liner, and among the most important are the experience of the installer and the quality of the materials. American Pools Resurfacing has over 20 years experience installing fiberglass and epoxy liners in both residential and commercial settings.

A common mistake among those with less experience in applying finishes to pools is poor judgement in using resins. When someone mixes their own resin or buys it off the shelf it is not in its purest form. Inert ingredients such as calcium carbonate, which are made to thicken resin to extend it, are added. Unfortunately, calcium is not pH stable so it tends to break down and can cause chalking.

Vinyl ester resin is designed to be corrosion resistant and it works well in low pH environments. When you start adding fillers to these, you compromise the corrosion resistance of the vinyl ester resin.
